Baseline Eating

For me, baseline eating is simply having a way of eating during ordinary weeks that feels balanced, satisfying and easy to sustain.

Most meals are built around protein, fibre, vegetables and carbohydrates in amounts that suit the day. Some days that means something lighter and fresher. Other days it means pasta, dessert, long lunches or eating more freely without overthinking it. Both can sit comfortably within the same approach.

The recipes in this app are designed to act as a flexible foundation rather than a strict plan. Most sit around the 400-calorie mark, but they are intended to be adapted. Add more rice if you're hungrier. Add extra virgin olive oil, bread, cheese or yoghurt if that's what your day needs.

I think having a reliable rhythm to everyday eating creates far more space for spontaneity, enjoyment and balance elsewhere. When the ordinary meals are sorted, food becomes much less complicated.
